The Panther softball team competed in the Pops Tournament over spring break and ended with a runner-up trophy.

The Pops Tournament was held in memory of Coach Bailey’s father, “Pops.”

The Lady Panthers beat Parker’s Chapel 3-2 in semi-final game March 22 but lost to Taylor 9-7 in the championship game March 23.

The All-Tournament players for the Lady Panthers were Carlin Whaley, Caitlyn McCormack, and Clara Beth Souter.

Senior Kennedy Byers said, “I think we had a great start, and in the end, even though we didn’t win, we never gave up. We came back from what could have been a horrible loss.”

Senior Brittany Yates added, “We played very well and just came up short in the championship game.”

The Lady Panthers have an overall record of 8-3 and a conference record of 2-1. The next game is a home conference game against Hamburg on March 28 at 5 p.m.
