The powder puff football game kicks off at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18. Senior girls play the junior girls. Later that same day, the homecoming parade starts at 5:30 in the Fred’s parking lot.  The cars and floats will circle the square before heading up Washington to Columbia. The parade will go east on Columbia and then turn north to end at the high school.

After the parade there is a free hot dog supper at the arena. Then the  homecoming queen will cut the cake at Panther Stadium at 6.  Around 7 p.m. seniors light the bonfire, located on the visitor side parking lot. The MHS band will play as the cheerleaders and drill team dance around the bonfire.

On Friday the coronation will start in the Panther Arena at 1:55. The ceremony usually lasts until 3, and parents are welcome to attend. The court will also be announced at an evening ceremony at 6 p.m in the stadium.

The homecoming dance is in Panther Arena on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8 p.m. to midnight. This is the first year that freshman and students from other schools can attend the dance as a guest or date of an MHS student.
