The Panther football team will face the Camden Fairview Cardinals on Oct. 5 at home. After the unfortunate loss of 71-48 against the Lakeside Rams, the Panthers’ record is 3-2. Against Lakeside, the Panthers had more than 400 rushing yards, but they couldn’t defensively keep Lakeside’s offense from scoring. Due to the two losses, they are now last in the 5A South Football conference. Joseph Smith said, “After taking our second loss in a row, it’s frustrating; but we are a good football team, and if we do our job and execute, we can win.”

The team hopes to add a win to their record by defeating Camden. Cade Lindsey added, “Last week hit hard on everyone.”

Lindsey added, “Camden is a good team, but I feel like it’s going to be a good game.”

The Panthers have been working to improve their performance so that they will be ready to battle the Cardinals. Joseph Goza said, “We’re preparing the same way we prepare for every game. We watch film almost every day to get an idea of what’s going to happen when we play.”

Senior Kadyn Roach, who was injured earlier in the season, is slated to play against the Cardinals, but Sidtraveous Hampton, a junior, injured his ankle Monday and is not expected to return for the rest of the season due to the severity.

Kickoff is at 7:00.
