The volleyball team lost to Mena in four games Sept. 18. The first set was a very close, heated game, where Magnolia lost by two points. Mena also won the second set, but the Lady Panthers weren’t ready to give up. They came back and won the third match, 25-21. The fourth set was so intense that nobody could look away, resulting in a Magnolia loss, 26-24. The Lady Panthers fought until the very end, playing their hardest. Senior Brittany Yates said, “We played hard, never gave up; we trusted in each other, and we played as a family.” Senior Shuntia Hunter added, “I think we played really well. There are some things we could’ve done differently, but as a team we could’ve played a little better together.” Many of the volleyball players are reflected on things they can personally improve upon. Junior Lauren Chambliss said, “I could’ve made my serves in, that would’ve helped.” For their next game, the Lady Panthers will be playing against Arkadelphia. Senior Tiffany Erwin predicted,”It’s going to be a tough, entertaining match.”
