A new giant leaping Panther has been installed on the front gates of Magnolia High School. Temperatures soared as student welders got to work Aug. 24. This Panther has three separate pieces — two legs and the body.

“This design is the more detailed version of the two designs we had,” Mr. Fullenwider said. To make sure the gate could still function, the Panther was cut in half. Welding the creation to the gate and cutting the Panther in half took almost an hour.

The Panther is the creation of Brandon Bailey, junior . “This is only the beginning of the campus redecoration,” said Bailey. “Two more Panthers need to be installed on the other two gates,” he added.
