The MHS tennis team kicked off the new season with a win at the Racquet Club in El Dorado, but didn’t stop there. At the second varsity match, the tennis team brought home another big win after playing against Parkers Chapel. The tennis team has also won a match in Hope and at home against Camden. Team member Keith Watson said, “I think we’re doing great this year.” Second-year player Kevin Zhao is a player to watch. The sophomore kept straight 6-0 records playing doubles against Parkers Chapel, singles against Hope, and singles against Camden. Zhao is currently ranked as the #1 male tennis player on the MHS team. Asked how he kept such a perfect winning streak, he answered,”I don’t enjoy losing. I’m determined to win, no matter who my opponent is.”
