SAU administers ACCUPLACER test

To help students qualify for concurrent college credit, SAU administered the College Board ACCUPLACER test  on the MHS campus Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. MHS students had to have qualifying scores on either the ACT or ACCUPLACER to be eligible for college credit from SAU. Not everyone has taken the ACT yet, so by taking the ACCUPLACER, students knew as soon as they finished the test whether they qualified. MHS offers college credit through SAU for Composition I and II, Literature I and II, Art, and College Algebra. Mrs. Hinton, English teacher, said, “The ACCUPLACER is very different from the ACT. No one I talked to had much experience with it, so my students reviewed an online practice test before taking the ACCUPLACER. They reported back that it helped them with the different types of questions.”
