On April 17, Aaron Hartsfield became the first Panther ever to earn a scholarship to swim in college. Hartsfield recently signed a letter of intent to swim on the Reddies team at Henderson State University. When asked about his signing, Hartsfield said, “I’m very excited about being able to go to college for something that I love to do.” He added, “I feel very proud of myself that I can do something positive with my life after I graduate.” Hartsfield was All District and All State three years in a row in 2015, 2016 and 2017. In 2015 and 2016, he was part of the MHS men’s team that won two state championships. With a time of 50.08, he holds the school record for the 100m freestyle.
