MHS has twice had an hour-long lunch to make time for activities. One time Panther Pride performed for Red Ribbon Week, and the whole school took a picture in the shape of a ribbon. The following week the hour-long lunch was followed by the pep rally at the start of fifth period. The first time we had the hour lunch, students said they enjoyed it, thinking it would be a rare event. However, after the second hour-long lunch, some students could be heard complaining that the cafeteria was too crowded. You might say it will take a little getting used to! One the one hand, some students enjoyed the combined lunch because they could see friends from different grade levels, but, on the other hand, some students were upset — students who lost their seats in the cafeteria to other students who thought those seats were theirs. We’ve only tried it twice, friends, so let’s keep an open mind.
