Band All-Region Clinic was a success, as thirty selected students from the MHS Band attended.  The clinic was held in Monticello, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29-30 . The Friday clinic rehearsal was 1-5 p.m; after every 40 minutes, students were rewarded with a 15-minute break.  The students were split into two bands,  first and second band, each directed by a different director.  After dinner, both bands reported back to Monticello High School at 7 for more rehearsals until 9:15 p.m. Students stayed overnight. Then on Saturday, rehearsals went from 8-11:30 a.m. After breaking for lunch, students reported for their performances. Each band did a astonishing job, with the hard work of learning unfamiliar music and having only a day and a half to learn it. Students also learned to pull together as a team, met new people and may have uncovered hidden abilities. Congratulations to all who attended: Kaisi Baker, Faith Bailey, Melanie Martin, Amber Dycus, Carley Crisp, Ryan Hudgens, Jordan Berry, Kathren Green, Vernecia Land, Bianca Castillo, Troy’Neshia Smith, Brianna Compton, Shanara Ellis, Kameron King, Bowen Arnold, Alyson White, Jennifer Hoover, Lynley Bennett, Casey Wilson, Crissana Jones, DeShaun Rone, Josh Sargent, Jamarius Harris, Ke’Shawn French, Ahkeem Harris, Cole Dixon, Nick Price, Lindsey Albin, Andrea Muldrew, and Ashley Pressley.
