The countdown is underway for the big game.

The basketball team — Greg Martin, Axavian Green, Trey Davis, Mar’Keveon Strickland — arrive at the pep rally before the state playoffs.

In just hours, the Panthers face Mill University Studies High School from Little Rock in a matchup for the history books. Tipoff is at 5:30. To prepare, the student council joined with the cheerleaders and the entire student body to host a special sendoff for the men’s basketball team.

The signs say it all — State Bound, and Ball is Life!

The sendoff lasted about 10 minutes right after second lunch, and everyone left very riled up about the game.

Quantaveious Smith bids good luck to starter Trey Davis.

“Are you proud to be a Panther!” could be heard blocks away. Nohelia Garcia attended and said, “I thought it was pretty cool.”

Students wave red Panther paws and film the encouragement.

The cheers turned into a signing party as the basketball boys like Trey Davis signed the Panther paws.

J’Tiah Bray offers her back to Mikosky Jones so he can autograph her Panther paw.
